EPIC POST WARNING!!!
I play a lot of games – perhaps too many – and last year was a great year for game releases. We had more choice than ever; new triple-A blockbusters on PS3 and XBox360, re-imaged classics on iPad/iPhone, innovative indie/casual/arcade games on many formats, and an increase in motion based games with Wiimote, Kinect and Move!
Arguably the platform of the year was Apple handheld devices – iPod/iPad/iPhone – and I played over 80 games on this platform. I love many of these games, including the old classics Monkey Island and Broken Sword, however I really only play one game a lot. I completed “Angry Birds” – until they released more levels! – and this game is in my top 10 for the year. My top ten games for the year based on playability, enjoyment, and novelty are (in order, and remembering that I haven’t played enough of Mass Effect 2 or Dead Red Redemption!):
